Sustainability goes far beyond just the climate impacts of trade fair construction for us: We have made sustainability an ongoing task to prevent harm to the planet with our products and services, and to secure and enhance human well-being.

Sustainability at meplan

As an agency for brand spaces and trade fair construction, we work carefully and with foresight. We use our creative resources and the competencies of our network. We consider sustainability from start to finish – from the generation and use of energy at our Munich location, through the design, materials, and production of exhibition stands, to their use and recycling.

To make our efforts measurable and traceable, we cooperate with partners who are specialists in the field of sustainability. Thus, we have not only been certified as a “sustainable company” by the Federal Association of the Event Industry fwd:, but we are taking many steps further with myclimate and ISO 20121 certification.

Sustainable trade-fair concepts

Can exhibition stands be sustainable? They can!

For example, in our trade fair construction system woodï, we rely on reusable modules made from domestic woods and local processing. This not only reduces the need for resources but also the transport distances and the associated CO₂ emissions. In addition, we use circularly designed products for furniture, decoration, and lighting from selected partners to make every detail sustainable.

Whether entire exhibition stands, forums, or catering areas, conferences, or in-house exhibitions: The modules can be perfectly adapted to your needs.

Innovative projects for a sustainable future

How can companies develop their stand designs for trade fair participations in a sustainable and circular manner, while additionally significantly minimizing the CO₂ footprint? In our pilot project EXCITING at this year’s EXPO REAL 2023, we have proven that transforming a classic stand design through the application of our framework NEXT CIRCULAR into an innovative brand space and resource-light stand design is effortlessly successful.

This and many other projects will significantly shape the future of trade fairs and make sustainability in the trade fair industry seem not utopian anymore – but a reality.
