Do you know
how WOW this is?

woodï by meplan is the innovative full-service design concept with genuine best practice sustainability for the trade fair and event sector. It is recyclable and significantly reduces the carbon footprint of the booth. The woodï design system is part of the portfolio of meplan, an agency for brand spaces and trade fair construction based in Munich. It is designed to implement zero waste in every aspect of its operations and to consistently achieve maximum sustainability within planetary boundaries. Through consistent recycling—including a strict material register with over 25 indicators—the amount of waste at the end of trade fairs can be significantly reduced. As “Circularity as a Service,” it enables customers to build sustainable stands. Due to this innovative approach, the design can be implemented in an almost 100 % sustainable and modular way. The system is constantly being expanded to provide more systematic solutions for individual brand identities. woodï has now won awards, including the Bavarian Efficiency Award and the German Design Award.
Explore woodï elements
at the Visitor Lounge
With woodï, we are continuing our success story at the International Spielwarenmesse – and at the same time celebrating the premiere of our innovative and sustainable design concept at Europe’s largest toy fair. More than 40 startups are presenting themselves in a 400 m² startup area with high reach, complemented by a 160 m² visitor lounge. Both areas impressively demonstrate our expertise in the conception, planning, design, and implementation of complex trade fair formats. The visitor lounge in particular will feature numerous woodï highlights, clearly demonstrating the potential of sustainable stand construction concepts:
woodï can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 76 % compared to conventional trade fair booth construction*.
This is a strong indication of how sustainable materials, circular thinking, and high-quality design can work together on the international trade fair stage.
*This figure is based on a comparison of woodï booth surface areas with conventional stand constructions
at the drinktec 2025 fair and demonstrates up to 27 % better economic performance.

seedling concept
woodï actively supports biodiversity. Living seedlings are used as decorative elements with a transparent story, making them a credible marketing activator. The woodï process is managed in-house and implemented with partners such as Bekra, experienced forest farmers and tree nurseries. woodï also maintains its own forest, selected for reforestation due to environmental damage, and offers team-building planting events in this forest.
water dispenser
„Quelle 2203“
The woodï water dispenser “Quelle2203” is a sustainable drinking water solution for trade fairs and events. It provides on-site access to drinking water for visitors and exhibitors, reduces single-use bottles, and seamlessly integrates into resource-efficient woodï space concepts.
furniture „Neo“
The furniture used for woodï is called neo and was created in collaboration with the start-up WYE Design, which has received numerous awards for its sustainable efforts. They are made from the innovative material Neolign®, which consists entirely of materials that are produced as waste in other industries and are often incinerated. The main component is wood, with 83%. Production takes place regionally and with green electricity. Their robustness and reparability give them a long lifespan, making them even more resource-efficient.
At end‑of‑life, they are taken back and fully transformed into their original material.
woodï.landscape neo
The woodï.landscape is made from recycled materials, including 83% wood waste from the wood industry combined with polymers, and is produced regionally using green electricity. Its separable and recyclable design enables a closed‑loop process, coordinated together with our partner wye, including material return and collection. It is waterproof, outdoor‑ready, and expandable, enabling flexible use over the long term.
innovative carpet concept
At Spielwarenmesse, woodï presents not only the versatile modules but also an innovative carpet concept. In collaboration with the woodïversum partner Wittmann, the carpets used at the Visitor Lounge will be recycled, giving all components a second life. Rewind’s event carpets, which are 100 % recyclable, serve as the basis. The product of dedicated research impresses with latex-free needle felt solutions that massively reduce energy consumption due to the closed loop and do not require a drop of water for production.
woodï materials
meplan’s own exhibition stand system basically consists of elements that can be assembled and dismantled several times. At the end of the useful life of a particular component, a further use in a different form is planned. In addition to the components of a woodï brand space, the furnishings, technology and decoration also play a decisive role. With all these components, the circular economy is established at woodï. Below you can find out which innovative materials we use.
Wood
Wood is a sustainable and versatile material, ideal for constructing exhibition stands due to its natural look and durability. The woodï system uses wood that is EPD, PEFC, FSC, and CE certified. These certifications ensure the wood’s environmental sustainability, responsible sourcing from managed forests, and compliance with EU safety standards. woodï’s commitment to quality and sustainability makes it a preferred choice for eco-conscious exhibition stand construction.
Steel
Steel is a durable and reusable material, perfect for the frames of the woodï system. The use of steel ensures the exhibition stands are robust and long-lasting. With its strength and resilience, steel frames contribute to the overall stability and longevity of the structures, making them suitable for repeated use. This focus on durability and reusability aligns with woodï’s commitment to sustainable and high-quality construction.
